BREVARD STUDENT ARTISTS AWARDS
2010 MELBOURNE ART FESTIVAL

The Student Art Competition at this year’s 26th Annual Melbourne Art Festival, held in historic downtown Melbourne, was open to all 7th thru 12th graders in Brevard County's public, private and home schools.  Each school was allowed four entries per category. Students who entered independently could enter one piece per category.  The Competition’s sponsor, Harris Corporation, is an international information and technology company based in Melbourne.

Middle and high school artists in the 2010 Student Art Competition attend the following educational institutions:  Bayside High School, Covenant Christian School, Edgewood Jr/Sr High, Holy Trinity, Merritt Island Christian, Rockledge High School, Space Coast Jr/Sr High School, Southwest Middle School, Stone Middle School, Viera High School, and West Shore Jr/Sr High School,  Monetary prizes were awarded for Best of Show ($125), and per category 1st Place ($75), 2nd Place ($50), 3rd Place ($25).  A School Award ($25) was given each winner.
The judges for this were impressed with the energy and excellent quality of the student works presented for judging.  They also recognized, with deep appreciation, the Brevard County art teachers who assist our budding artists in the technical aspects and conceptual depth of their chosen art media.
